Do you have something to celebrate coming up, or do you just simply want an excuse to have fun with friends and family? Then why not have a Forensic Minds party and indulge in your fantasy to be a Crime Scene Investigator for the evening? We offer childrens’ and adults’ parties for all occasions, just tell us what you want and we will deliver a fun and fully immersive party, where you can dress up and catch the criminal! Our events can be at any venue, anywhere, even at home if you wished!
Although each event will be tailored to your requirements, we do have a typical outline of what your event could look like:
We arrive an hour before your event to set up and bring all necessary equipment with us.
Each participant will receive their own CSI outfit (suit, gloves & mask) to wear during the event and to take home afterwards.
Each participant will examine the crime scene and exhibits, retrieving any physical trace evidence they locate along the way.
And finally, there may also be a need to interview suspects, review CCTV evidence or listen to tape recordings.
Our experts will teach you the science behind fingerprints and you will see this come to life as you each take a full set of your own fingerprints and learn how to powder and lift finger marks using real life CSI materials.
Before entering the crime scene, you will be briefed on the details of the case and have a chance to analyse police and witness statements to help you solve the crime.
You may also carry out various aspects of forensic tests including fingerprinting & ballistic testing through to blood splatter, hair and fibre analysis.
Example of Evidencing that you will encounter:
Shoe Marks – Looking at shoe patterns, shoe mark retrieval (powder, lifting and casting), shoe mark comparison
Tool Marks – how tool marks are used in crime scene investigation, casting and microscopic comparison
Fingerprinting – Learn how fingerprints are formed and why we have them, patterns and characteristics, how to make comparisons, powdering and lifting latent finger marks and other retrieval methods.
Hair and Fibre Analysis – microscopic analysis of hairs and fibres plus comparisons
Blood Spatter Pattern Analysis – interpretation of blood spatter patterns and using patterns to ascertain point of contact, handedness of assailant and type of weapon used
Ballistic Examination – rifling, wound entry and exit points, links to blood spatter
